The United Bank a brand new name in the Egyptian banking and financial sector with a one billion Egyptian pounds paid in capital.
It was established by the Central Bank in June 2006, as a part of its reform strategy. The United Bank acquired three banks; the United Bank of Egypt, the Islamic International Bank for Investment and Development, and the Nile Bank . |
The Central Bank of Egypt granted the United Bank an additional subordinated loan amounting EGP 3 billion to support the acquisition.
The United Bank major goal is to build up its external image as one of the market solid competitive, to improve the quality of the loan portfolio of the three acquired banks and to restructure them by creating new synergies.
It worth mentioning that it is the first time in Egypt that the Central Bank to established a new Financial Banking entity structured as a private Bank, with 37 branches and 2,300 employees countrywide.
